You are right about this. We should continually review and revise our laws based on current knowledge and conditions. Silly to give the constitution so much credence. However, we do need some principles to live by as a country. That’s one way the constitution is useful, for those who need these principles handed to them. They also are a statement of our national values, which of course are in flux. But certainly not infallible.
