In 2016, when I first started writing on Medium, I began a series about my experience of beginning a daily piano practice, its value to the rest of my life, and what I hoped would be valuable advice for others hoping to develop a deep practice in any area of interest. I kept at it for a little while, and found it an interesting topic to write about and hoped that I could convince readers they should be interested and even follow my journey. After a few months or so, I stopped writing as no one was reading it. I recently decided to get serious about writing this series again.

Imagine my surprise to find not only mine but everyone’s Series taken off the main Medium site and relegated to the archives. I decided to rescue my story in bits on the regular Medium site. Here it is, edited afresh. I plan to continue the series here.
