There are many reasons why I am glad I self-published my first book using Kindle Direct Publishing.

In September of 2017 I began to seriously think about writing a book. I’d played with the idea for some time. After my dad’s death my mother had begun reading me the letters she and dad had sent back and forth to each other during World War II. I was intrigued by their whirlwind romance (It took them only a few dates to decide they were in love and ready to commit to each other forever). I began to recognize them as as 19 and 20 year-olds-full of passion. courage, idealism and questions about life.

Some of their dreams broke my heart, knowing how their lives actually turned out. I wanted to somehow recognize the struggles they had faced and survived, to document the love they had for each other and their family. So I began writing the story and called it Dear Milly.
